Birmingham United FC is a formal recruitment partner of Birmingham City FC. This partnership means that our most talented young players have a direct pathway to trials at the Birmingham City Academy — one of the most respected academy setups in the country.
The partnership also benefits our coaching staff. Our coaches receive development and coaching support from Birmingham City — raising the standards of coaching across our entire programme and giving our young players access to elite methodology and insight.

In partnership with Tonsser — Europe’s leading football talent platform, sponsored by Adidas — we run a formal Talent ID programme across our sessions. The best talent from Birmingham’s inner-city communities is identified, tracked and given the exposure and opportunity it deserves.
Tonsser’s platform gives young players a digital football profile that scouts and clubs can view — giving those from underrepresented communities the same visibility as players at elite academies.
